The Jordanian Forum for Economic Development (JEFD)

Objectives


* To follow up on the hot economic issues in Jordan and at the regional and international levels.
* To form a data bank on the most important economic indicators for use by researchers, investors and scholars studying the conditions of the Jordanian economy.
* To draw up a mechanism for providing decision-makers with the results of the analyses including the relevant policy implications.
* To strengthen through dialogue initiating the linkage between the role of the State in economic liberalization and the role of the private sector in leading the process of economic development.
* To open a forum for the private sector to convey its concerns both to the public and to the Government on economic issues and policies.
* To organize workshops on major economic issues.
* To request well-known economists and economic experts to draft policy papers on the most important local, regional and international economic issues and to hold workshops to discuss the results of these studies, from which an executive summary and recommendations would be submitted to the decision makers.
* To publish the studies and to circulate them to the decision-makers and researchers and those interested in the public and private sectors.
* To issue a quarterly and an annual report dealing with important economic issues.
