" Union of
Jordanian Publishers:
The UJRC has been a member in the said union since
1997. In 2000, the Center's Director was elected
deputy director of the Union of Jordanian
Publishers.

" Jordanian Scenarios 2020:
In 2001, the UJRC Director is a member of the
steering committee for this project, which was
released by the government under the supervision of
the Higher Council of Science and Technology.

" Jordan: Vision 2020:
This endeavor was released by the Young
Entrepreneurs Association (YEA), and it includes
about 100 member companies and organizations. The
UJRC is the first center to join this endeavor.

" National Committee Supporting Women in
Parliamentary Elections:
This committee was formed under the umbrella of the
National Committee for Women's Issues and the
Jordanian Hashemite Treasury. Its members are a
number of leaders from nongovernmental organizations
and women's organizations, as well as public
figures. The aim of this committee is to define the
shapes and programs in support of electing women in
the parliamentary elections, which are supposed to
take place in Autumn 2002. The UJRC has been a
representative in this committee since its
establishment in 2001.
Those working on the center's programs are also
active in many national committees, organizations
and endeavors that work in the fields of
development, environment, human rights, arts,
culture and other fields.

Arab and
regional:
”The Civil Arab
Network for Democracy and Reform (under
construction”:
This network launched by Al Urdun Al Jadid Research
Center is aimed at fostering a civil Arab network
for the development of Democracy and Reform. This
network was a by product of the Amman Declaration of
Political and Electoral Reform. The Amman
Declaration was promulgated by the Civil Society
Forum in the Arab World. The Forum too place in
Amman in December 2004. Twelve civil society
representatives participated in the Forum. The
twelve representative were from twelve different
Arab countries.
“The Arab Network for Civil Organizations”:
The conceptual framework of this network was first
discussed in the Second Arab Civil Society
Conference that took place in Cairo in 1997. The
network was officially introduced and launched in
2000. This network is currently composed of more
than a thousand Arab civil society representatives,
experts, researchers, representatives of regional
and international organizations. The ultimate goal
of this network is to increase cooperation between
Arab civil society organizations. In addition, the
network seeks to increase the functional capacity of
these organizations. Prince Talal Bin Abd Al Aziz is
the head of the board of trustees.

" Arab Network for Democratic Development (ANDD):
The Center's Director is currently the head of the
network, which launched its endeavor in Amman in
1996 in a meeting that gathered the main Arab
organizations working in the fields of human rights,
monitoring parliamentary elections, and democratic
development. This network was formed in Cairo two
years later. However, the network suffers from lack
of financial resources and weak work trends within
the framework of Arab networks.

" Arab Social Sciences Research (ASSR):
This is an electronic network for Arab research
centers working on social science rights. The Ford
Foundation funded this network, which was launched
in the end of the Nineties, and gathers electronic
sites for many Arab centers. Currently, the net
contents are being transformed into Arabic after
being displayed in the English language for years.

" Arab Institute for Studies and Communication
(AISC):
This is registered as a company gathering 14
organizations for studies and researchers in 4 Arab
countries: Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine. Dr.
Sa'ad Eddine Ibrahim lead the organization during
its first stage until his arrest in the end of 2000,
and the closure of Ibn Khaldoun Center. The acting
director at the moment is Dr. Mustafa Hamarneh,
Director of Strategic Studies at the University of
Jordan. The organization also has a board of
directors. Four individuals from Egypt, Lebanon,
Jordan and Palestine were running the daily work of
the organization.

" Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network
(EMHRN):
The UJRC is one out of 46 member organizations in
this network, which was launched four years ago. The
EMHRN works in the field of promoting human rights
in countries located in the Mediterranean Basin, and
it protects the rights of colonies, Arab minorities,
and workers migrating to European countries. The
network holds a committee meeting once a year,
organizes workshops and training courses, and
releases a periodical electronic bulletin.

" Network for Euro-Mediterranean Research and
Study Centers (EUROMESCO):
The UJRC joined this network only lately in February
2002. The EUROMESCO gathers a number of research
centers working on the two banks of the
Mediterranean.

" Mediterranean Development Forum (MDF):
The MDF is a partnership between ten research
centers in the Arab Middle East, Turkey, Iran, and
North Africa. It was formed with cooperation from
the World Bank and the United Nations Development
Program (UNDP), and with the support of other
donors, in order to create a regional growth forum
to enroot development in the region, and to
contribute in crystallizing various shapes of
cooperation between the countries in the region,
being the platform to launch efforts and networks
joining cooperative organizations in the various
countries in the region.
The UJRC has been a member in this partnership since
the beginning of 2001, and is the hosting partner
for MDF4 in Amman, Jordan, October, 2002

" ELTALLER:
A global network of nongovernmental organizations
working in development. Its location is in the
Tunisian capital, and it has an Arabic program for
nongovernmental organizations in the Arab World.
Jordan has been a member in this network since 1993.

" The World Movement for Democracy (WMD):
The UJRC cooperates with the WMD, which gather
hundreds of activists and nongovernmental
organizations working in democratic development in
the world. The WMD held two conferences in New
Delhi, India, and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil during 2000
and 2001.
