The Friends of Chechnya and Ingushetia in the Russian-Chechen war,

ten countries).
1995
3. Civil Society and the public sphere in Amman (research project
includes a number of African and Asian capitals).
With the emergence of UJRC, the civil society and democratic development
program also emerged, and both were associated with the democratic
transformation and the release of political diversity in the Kingdom.
The program is on the basis of the center representing one of the
civil society institutions in Jordan, despite it having specialized
features. It directs its major interest towards democratic issues,
which are regarded as the key to political, economic and social development.
The program specifically directs its attention to study the state
of affairs and the developments of the Jordanian civil society, and
to introduce its different groups and issues. It also attempts to
contribute to enhancing the ability of civil society organizations
to raise their status and to strengthen their role in public life,
to help protect democratic development and the establishment of democratic
methods in the country's lifestyle at different levels. The program's
activities include organizing conferences, seminars and workshops,
preparing research papers, and issuing books and reports in addition
to the "issues of civil society" periodical leaflet.
