CSD
in Brief
The
civil society and democratic development program is
associated with the emergence of the center, which was
associated with the democratic transformation and the
release of the political diversity in the Kingdom. The
program is on the basis of the center representing one
of the civil society institutions in Jordan, despite
it having specialized features. It directs its major
interest to democratic issues, which are regarded as
the key to political, economic and social development.
The program specifically directs its attention to study
the state of affairs and the developments of the Jordan
civil society, and to introduce its different groups
and issues. It also attempts to contribute to the enhancement
of civil society organizations' ability to raise its
status and to strengthen its role in public life, to
help protect democratic development and the establishment
of democratic methods in the country's lifestyle at
different levels. The program's activities include organizing
conferences, seminars and workshops, and to prepare
research papers and to issue books and reports in addition
to the "issues of civil society" periodical leaflet.
