Introduction:
One of main goals of UJRC is to empower the
underrepresented segments of the Jordanian Society.
Therefore, UJRC focuses special attention on Women's
movements and organizations, considering them one of
the essential elements of the Jordanian Civil
Society. The philosophy of the program emerges from
the notion that women are at the center of social
change, modernization, and development. The program
works on amending Elections and Candidacy laws so
that fair opportunities exist for women and for
other fragile segments to participate in the making
of political, social, and economic decisions.
UJRC works on observing the status of women in
Jordan and investigating the obstacles and problems
they face in order to enhance their level of
participation in society. The activities of the
program range from organizing conferences, seminars,
and training workshops to conducting researches and
publishing books and reports.
